CCAR Sprint

Katie and Garret terrorized the Sprint AR and are the first coed team to ever win the event! Big congrats to both of them, and this was only Katie's second race!

The event consisted of approximately 200 competitors that participated in a 4 mile kayak, 12 mile mountain bike, and 5 mile trail run race. The name of the game was go, go, go and there was no stopping from the minute the starting horn went off. They were first out of the water from the kayak, first off the bikes, and first back from the run... can't beat that!

Big thanks to our sponsors including crank bro's, kmc chains, saris bike racks, feed the machine, sho-air, and polar. Couldn't have done it without you!

Central Coast Challenge 13 Hour

On May 15th and 16th Team Synergy AR raced in the Central Coast Dawn to Dusk, and the Central Coast Sprint at Santa Margarita Lake. We had a total of 6 racers compete, and an additional friend show up for support.

The weather was perfect for a 7am start for the 12 hour, and the racers were off and out for the next 10 to 13 hours. The race started with an intense kayak with competitors jockeying for position, and the 3 man teams tended to get going the fastest. It was a fast paced 6 mile kayak to the beach over glass water, and then a run to the Bike TA.

Once on the bikes, position was gained quickly and the super light components from kmc chains, crank brothers pedals, and the extra power from training came in clutch. Garret sky-rocketed to first place, however some of the rest of the team got tricked by a small navigation challenge. There was sweet single track and gnarly creek crossings that kept the entire ride interesting.

After the bike it was back to battling it out on kayak and foot in 90 degree weather and poison oak. Keeping up the effort, we made it to the finish line after traversing the lake on rope, rappelling down slot canyons, and trekking through anything and everything. Results for Garret were 5th team overall, and 1st in solo division! Dane, Gerry, Adam and Tyler all finished the race in one piece approximately 1.5 hours after the first finishers, nice work guys!
